We have been talking about money conversations and particularly those ones that cause us to squirm and get a little bit awkward. How about firing a vendor that we believe is really not delivering?
They promised us the world and all of a sudden they're unresponsive. What do you do?
Firing a Vendor
You've got to remember that you are in charge as the business owner. Of course, I always recommend that you have a conversation first to see if you can get everything back on track and headed in the right direction. But equally so, there are going to be times when vendors just don't deliver. Firing a vendor is ok when they are not delivering what they're supposed to or keeping their side of the deal.
How to Fire a Vendor
You, as the empowered business leader, need to be able to step back into your power. Have a bold conversation that establishes a boundary and says, “This is no longer okay for me and we need to part ways.”
These conversations aren't comfortable ones. I get that.
However, they are conversations that are going to save you money and also save you a lot of heartache in the long term. As a business owner, you've got to take care of you and your business and really strengthen that muscle around having some of those bold money conversations in your business.
